Furthermore

we beseech

ἐρωτάω

you,

ὑμᾶς

brethren,

ἀδελφός

exhort

παρακαλέω

you by

ἐν

the Lord

κύριος

Jesus,

Ἰησοῦς

that as

καθώς

ye have received

παραλαμβάνω

of

παρά

us

ἡμῶν

how

πῶς

ye

ὑμᾶς

ought

δεῖ

to walk

περιπατέω

and

καί

to please

ἀρέσκω

God,

θεός

so

ἵνα

ye would abound

περισσεύω

more and more.

For

γάρ

ye know

οἶδα

what

τίς

commandments

παραγγελία

we gave

δίδωμι

you

ὑμῖν

by

διά

the Lord

κύριος

Jesus.

this

τοῦτο

is

ἐστί

the will

θέλημα

of God,

θεός

even your

ὑμῶν

sanctification,

ἁγιασμός

that ye

ὑμᾶς

should abstain

ἀπέχομαι

from

ἀπό

fornication:

πορνεία

That every one

ἕκαστος

of you

ὑμῶν

should know

οἶδα

how to possess

κτάομαι

his

ἑαυτοῦ

vessel

σκεῦος

in

ἐν

sanctification

ἁγιασμός

and

καί

honour;

τιμή

Not

μή

in

ἐν

the lust

πάθος

of concupiscence,

ἐπιθυμία

even

καί

as

καθάπερ

the Gentiles

ἔθνος

which

ὁ

know

οἶδα

not

μή

God:

θεός

That no

man go beyond

ὑπερβαίνω

and

καί

defraud

πλεονεκτέω

his

αὐτός

brother

ἀδελφός

in

ἐν

any matter:

πρᾶγμα

because

διότι

that the Lord

κύριος

is the avenger

ἔκδικος

of

περί

all

πᾶς

such,

τούτων

as

καθώς

we

also

καί

have forewarned

you

ὑμῖν

and

καί

testified.

διαμαρτύρομαι

hath

καλέω

not

οὐ

called

καλέω

us

ἡμᾶς

unto

ἐπί

uncleanness,

ἀκαθαρσία

but

ἀλλά

unto

ἐν

holiness.

He therefore

τοιγαροῦν

that despiseth,

ἀθετέω

despiseth

ἀθετέω

not

οὐ

man,

ἄνθρωπος

but

ἀλλά

God,

θεός

who hath

δίδωμι

also

καί

given

δίδωμι

unto

εἰς

us

ἡμᾶς

his

αὐτός

holy

ἅγιος

Spirit.

as touching

brotherly love

φιλαδελφία

ye need

ἔχω

χρεία

not

οὐ

that I write

γράφω

unto you:

ὑμῖν

for

γάρ

ye

ὑμεῖς

yourselves

are

ἐστέ

taught of God

θεοδίδακτος

to

εἰς

love

ἀγαπάω

one another.

ἀλλήλων

indeed

ποιέω

it

toward

εἰς

all

πᾶς

the brethren

ἀδελφός

which

ὁ

are in

ἐν

all

ὅλος

Macedonia:

Μακεδονία

but

δέ

we beseech

παρακαλέω

you,

ὑμᾶς

brethren,

ἀδελφός

that ye increase

περισσεύω

more and more;

μᾶλλον

that ye study

φιλοτιμέομαι

to be quiet,

ἡσυχάζω

and

καί

to do

πράσσω

your own business,

ἴδιος

and

καί

to work with

ἐργάζομαι

your

ὑμῶν

own

ἴδιος

hands,

χείρ

as

καθώς

we commanded

παραγγέλλω

you;

ὑμῖν

That

ἵνα

ye may walk

περιπατέω

honestly

εὐσχημόνως

toward

πρός

them that are without,

ἔξω

and

καί

that ye may have

ἔχω

lack

χρεία

of nothing.

μηδείς

Return of the Lord

But

δέ

I would

θέλω

not

οὐ

have

θέλω

you

ὑμᾶς

to be ignorant,

ἀγνοέω

brethren,

ἀδελφός

concerning

περί

them which are asleep,

κοιμάομαι

that

ἵνα

ye sorrow

λυπέω

not,

ἵνα

even

καί

as

καθώς

others

λοιπός

which

ὁ

have

ἔχω

no

μή

hope.

ἐλπίς

For

γάρ

if

εἰ

we believe

πιστεύω

that

ὅτι

Jesus

Ἰησοῦς

died

ἀποθνῄσκω

and

καί

rose again,

ἀνίστημι

even so

οὕτως

them also

καί

which sleep

κοιμάομαι

in

διά

Jesus

Ἰησοῦς

will

ἄγω

God

θεός

bring

ἄγω

with

σύν

him.

For

γάρ

this

τοῦτο

we say

λέγω

unto you

ὑμῖν

by

ἐν

the word

λόγος

of the Lord,

κύριος

that

ὅτι

we

ἡμεῖς

which

ὁ

are alive

ζάω

and remain

περιλείπω

unto

εἰς

the coming

παρουσία

of the Lord

κύριος

shall

φθάνω

not

οὐ

prevent

φθάνω

them which

ὁ

are asleep.

κοιμάομαι

the Lord

κύριος

himself

αὐτός

shall descend

καταβαίνω

from

ἀπό

heaven

οὐρανός

with

ἐν

a shout,

κέλευσμα

with

ἐν

the voice

φωνή

of the archangel,

ἀρχάγγελος

and

καί

with

ἐν

the trump

σάλπιγξ

of God:

θεός

and

καί

the dead

νεκρός

in

ἐν

Christ

Χριστός

shall rise

ἀνίστημι

first:

πρῶτον

Then

ἔπειτα

we

ἡμεῖς

which

ὁ

are alive

ζάω

and remain

περιλείπω

shall be caught up

ἁρπάζω

together

ἅμα

with

σύν

them

αὐτός

in

ἐν

the clouds,

νεφέλη

to

εἰς

meet

ἀπάντησις

the Lord

κύριος

in

εἰς

the air:

ἀήρ

and

καί

so

οὕτως

shall we

ἔσομαι

ever

πάντοτε

be

ἔσομαι

with

σύν

the Lord.

Wherefore

ὥστε

comfort

παρακαλέω

one another

ἀλλήλων

with

ἐν

these

τούτοις

words.
