of the doctrine

let us go on

the foundation

of repentance

μετάνοια

from

ἀπό

dead

works,

ἔργον

and

of faith

πίστις

toward

ἐπί

God,

θεός

Of the doctrine

διδαχή

of baptisms,

βαπτισμός

and

τέ

of laying on

ἐπίθεσις

of hands,

χείρ

and

τέ

of resurrection

ἀνάστασις

of the dead,

νεκρός

and

καί

of eternal

αἰώνιος

judgment.

this

τοῦτο

will we do,

ποιέω

if

ἐάν

περ

God

θεός

permit.

ἐπιτρέπω

it is impossible

ἀδύνατος

for those who were once

ἅπαξ

enlightened,

φωτίζω

and

τέ

have tasted

γεύομαι

of the heavenly

ἐπουράνιος

gift,

δωρεά

and

καί

were made

γίνομαι

partakers

μέτοχος

of the Holy

ἅγιος

Ghost,

πνεῦμα

have tasted

γεύομαι

the good

καλός

word

ῥῆμα

of God,

θεός

and

the powers

δύναμις

of the world

to come,

μέλλω

If

they shall fall away,

παραπίπτω

to renew them

ἀνακαινίζω

again

πάλιν

unto

εἰς

repentance;

μετάνοια

seeing they crucify

ἀνασταυρόω

to themselves

ἑαυτοῦ

the Son

υἱός

of God

θεός

afresh,

ἀνασταυρόω

and

καί

put him to an open shame.

the earth

drinketh in

the rain

ὑετός

that cometh

ἔρχομαι

oft

πολλάκις

upon

it,

αὐτός

bringeth forth

herbs

βοτάνη

meet

εὔθετος

for them

ἐκεῖνος

καί

by

διά

whom

ὅς

it is dressed,

γεωργέω

receiveth

μεταλαμβάνω

blessing

εὐλογία

from

ἀπό

God:

θεός

that which beareth

ἐκφέρω

thorns

ἄκανθα

and

briers

τρίβολος

is rejected,

ἀδόκιμος

and

καί

is nigh

ἐγγύς

unto cursing;

κατάρα

whose

end

is to

εἰς

be burned.

καῦσις

beloved,

ἀγαπητός

we are persuaded

πείθω

better things

κρείττων

of

περί

you,

ὑμῶν

and

καί

things that accompany

ἔχω

salvation,

σωτηρία

though

εἰ

we

λαλέω

thus

οὕτως

speak.

God

θεός

is not

οὐ

unrighteous

ἄδικος

to forget

ἐπιλανθάνομαι

your

ὑμῶν

work

ἔργον

and

καί

labour

κόπος

of love,

ἀγάπη

which

ὅς

ye have shewed

ἐνδείκνυμι

toward

εἰς

his

αὐτός

name,

ὄνομα

in that ye have ministered

διακονέω

to the saints,

ἅγιος

and

καί

do minister.

we desire

ἐπιθυμέω

that every one

ἕκαστος

of you

ὑμῶν

do shew

ἐνδείκνυμι

the same

αὐτός

diligence

σπουδή

to

πρός

the full assurance

πληροφορία

of hope

ἐλπίς

unto

ἄχρι

the end:

τέλος

not

ἵνα

slothful,

νωθρός

but

followers

μιμητής

of them who through

faith

πίστις

and

καί

patience

μακροθυμία

inherit

κληρονομέω

the promises.

God's Unchangeable Promise

made promise

ἐπαγγέλλομαι

to Abraham,

Ἀβραάμ

because

ἐπεί

he could

ἔχω

swear

ὀμνύω

by

κατά

no

οὐδείς

greater,

μείζων

he sware

ὀμνύω

by

κατά

himself,

ἑαυτοῦ

Saying,

Surely

μήν

blessing

εὐλογέω

I will bless

εὐλογέω

thee,

and

καί

multiplying

πληθύνω

I will multiply

πληθύνω

thee.

And

after he had patiently endured,

μακροθυμέω

he obtained

ἐπιτυγχάνω

the promise.

For

men

ἄνθρωπος

verily

μέν

swear

ὀμνύω

by

κατά

the greater:

μείζων

and

καί

an oath

ὅρκος

for

εἰς

confirmation

βεβαίωσις

is to them

αὐτός

an end

πέρας

of all

πᾶς

strife.

Wherein

willing

βούλομαι

more abundantly

περισσότερον

to shew

ἐπιδείκνυμι

unto the heirs

κληρονόμος

of promise

ἐπαγγελία

the immutability

ἀμετάθετος

counsel,

βουλή

confirmed

μεσιτεύω

it by an oath:

things,

πρᾶγμα

ἐν

it was impossible

ἀδύνατος

for God

to lie,

ψεύδομαι

we might have

ἔχω

a strong

ἰσχυρός

consolation,

παράκλησις

who

ὁ

have fled for refuge

καταφεύγω

to lay hold

κρατέω

upon the hope

ἐλπίς

set before us:

πρόκειμαι

Which

hope we have

ἔχω

as

ὡς

an anchor

ἄγκυρα

of the soul,

ψυχή

both

sure

ἀσφαλής

and

stedfast,

βέβαιος

and

καί

which entereth

εἰσέρχομαι

into

εἰς

that within

ἐσώτερος

the veil;

Whither

the forerunner

ὑπέρ

us

entered,

εἰσέρχομαι

even Jesus,

εἰς

ever

αἰών

after

the order

τάξις

of Melchisedec.
