are scattered abroad,

greeting.

ye fall

the trying

δοκίμιον

of your

faith

worketh

patience.

her perfect

let him ask

that giveth

men liberally,

upbraideth

ὀνειδίζω

not;

μή

καί

it shall be given

him.

faith,

nothing

wavering.

διακρίνω

For

γάρ

he that wavereth

διακρίνω

is like

ἔοικα

a wave

κλύδων

of the sea

θάλασσα

driven with the wind

ἀνεμίζω

and

tossed.

ῥιπίζω

μή

that

ἐκεῖνος

man

ἄνθρωπος

think

οἴμαι

that

he shall receive

λαμβάνω

any thing

the Lord.

A double minded

δίψυχος

man

ἀνήρ

is unstable

ἀκατάστατος

in

ἐν

all

πᾶς

his

ways.

Let

καυχάομαι

the brother

ἀδελφός

of low degree

ταπεινός

rejoice

καυχάομαι

in

ἐν

that he

αὐτός

is exalted:

ὕψος

the rich,

πλούσιος

in

ἐν

that he

αὐτός

is made low:

ταπείνωσις

because

ὅτι

as

ὡς

the flower

ἄνθος

of the grass

χόρτος

he shall pass away.

παρέρχομαι

γάρ

the sun

ἥλιος

is no sooner risen

ἀνατέλλω

with

σύν

a burning heat,

καύσων

but

καί

it withereth

ξηραίνω

the grass,

χόρτος

and

καί

the flower

ἄνθος

thereof

falleth,

ἐκπίπτω

and

καί

the grace

εὐπρέπεια

of the fashion

πρόσωπον

of it

αὐτός

perisheth:

ἀπόλλυμι

so

οὕτως

also

καί

shall

μαραίνω

the rich man

πλούσιος

fade away

μαραίνω

in

ἐν

his

αὐτός

ways.

Blessed

μακάριος

is the man

ἀνήρ

that

ὅς

endureth

ὑπομένω

temptation:

πειρασμός

for

ὅτι

when he is tried,

δόκιμος

γίνομαι

he shall receive

λαμβάνω

the crown

στέφανος

of life,

ζωή

which

ὅς

the Lord

κύριος

hath promised

ἐπαγγέλλομαι

to them that love

ἀγαπάω

him.

when he is drawn away

hath conceived,

συλλαμβάνω

it bringeth forth

when it is finished,

death.

of turning.

of truth,

a kind

of firstfruits

creatures.

γένεσις

face

πρόσωπον

ἐν

a glass:

ἔσοπτρον

he beholdeth

himself,

ἑαυτοῦ

goeth his way,

straightway

εὐθέως

forgetteth

ἐπιλανθάνομαι

what manner of man

he was.

whoso looketh

παρακύπτω

the perfect

τέλειος

law

νόμος

of liberty,

ἐλευθερία

continueth

παραμένω

therein, he

οὗτος

being

γίνομαι

a forgetful

ἐπιλησμονή

hearer,

ἀκροατής

but

ἀλλά

a doer

ποιητής

of the work,

ἔργον

this man

οὗτος

shall be

ἔσομαι

blessed

μακάριος

in

ἐν

his

deed.

seem

to be

religious,

θρῆσκος

and bridleth

χαλιναγωγέω

μή

tongue,

deceiveth

ἀπατάω

his own

αὐτός

heart,

καρδία

this man's

religion

θρησκεία

is vain.

undefiled

To visit

ἐπισκέπτομαι

the fatherless

ὀρφανός

widows

χήρα

affliction,

θλῖψις

and to keep

τηρέω

himself

ἑαυτοῦ

unspotted

ἄσπιλος

from

ἀπό

the world.
