unto him

he had wasted

διασκορπίζω

αὐτός

goods.

How

is it that I hear

this

τοῦτο

περί

thee?

give

ἀποδίδωμι

an account

λόγος

of thy

stewardship;

οἰκονομία

for

γάρ

thou mayest be

δύναμαι

no

οὐ

longer

ἔτι

steward.

shall I do?

taketh away

ἐμοῦ

the stewardship:

οἰκονομία

I cannot

οὐ

ἰσχύω

dig;

σκάπτω

to beg

ἐπαιτέω

I am ashamed.

I am put out

of the stewardship,

they may receive

lord's

unto him, and said

unto the first,

owest thou

unto my

lord?

An hundred

measures

of oil.

ἔλαιον

unto him,

bill,

γράμμα

sit down

καθίζω

quickly,

ταχέως

and write

γράφω

fifty.

to another,

the lord

commended

ἐπαινέω

the unjust

ἀδικία

steward,

οἰκονόμος

because

ὅτι

he had done

wisely:

φρονίμως

for

ὅτι

the children

υἱός

of this

world

αἰών

are

in

their

ἑαυτοῦ

generation

γενεά

wiser

φρόνιμος

than

ὑπέρ

the children

of light.

the mammon

μαμωνᾶς

of unrighteousness;

that,

when

ὅταν

ye fail,

ἐκλείπω

they may receive

δέχομαι

you

ὑμᾶς

into

εἰς

everlasting

αἰώνιος

habitations.

much.

ye have

γίνομαι

not

οὐ

been

γίνομαι

faithful

πιστός

in

ἐν

the unrighteous

ἄδικος

mammon,

μαμωνᾶς

who

τίς

will commit

πιστεύω

to your

ὑμῖν

trust

πιστεύω

the true

ἀληθινός

riches?

ye have

γίνομαι

not

οὐ

been

γίνομαι

faithful

πιστός

in

ἐν

that which is another man's,

ἀλλότριος

who

τίς

shall give

δίδωμι

you

ὑμῖν

that which is your own?

οὐδείς

servant

οἰκέτης

can

δύναμαι

serve

δουλεύω

two

δύο

masters:

κύριος

for

γάρ

either

ἤ

he will hate

μισέω

the one,

εἷς

and

καί

love

ἀγαπάω

the other;

ἕτερος

or else

ἤ

he will hold

ἀντέχομαι

to the one,

εἷς

and

καί

despise

καταφρονέω

the other.

ἕτερος

Ye cannot

οὐ

δύναμαι

serve

δουλεύω

God

and

καί

mammon.

μαμωνᾶς

covetous,

φιλάργυρος

heard

these things:

they derided

ἐστέ

they which justify

δικαιόω

yourselves

ἑαυτοῦ

before

ἐνώπιον

men;

ἄνθρωπος

knoweth

your

ὑμῶν

hearts:

καρδία

for

ὅτι

that which is highly esteemed

ὑψηλός

among

ἐν

men

ἄνθρωπος

is

ἐστί

abomination

βδέλυγμα

in the sight

ἐνώπιον

of God.

the prophets

were until

ἕως

John:

Ἰωάννης

ἀπό

that time

the kingdom

of God

is preached,

εὐαγγελίζω

every man

presseth

βίαζομαι

into

εἰς

it.

easier

εὐκοπώτερον

for heaven

earth

to pass,

to fail.

Whosoever

putteth away

ἀπολύω

his

wife,

marrieth

another,

committeth adultery:

μοιχεύω

whosoever

marrieth

her that is put away

ἀπολύω

from

ἀπό

her husband

committeth adultery.

to be fed

χορτάζω

with

ἀπό

the crumbs

fell

from

the rich man's

πλούσιος

table:

τράπεζα

moreover

ἀλλά

the dogs

κύων

came

ἔρχομαι

and licked

ἀπολείχω

his

αὐτός

sores.

that the beggar

died,

ἀποθνῄσκω

was carried

ἀποφέρω

by

the angels

ἄγγελος

into

bosom:

κόλπος

the rich man

πλούσιος

also

δέ

καί

died,

ἀποθνῄσκω

and

καί

was buried;

he lift up

ἐπαίρω

eyes,

ὀφθαλμός

being

ὑπάρχω

torments,

and seeth

Abraham

afar

μακρόθεν

off,

ἀπό

and

καί

Lazarus

Λάζαρος

in

ἐν

his

αὐτός

bosom.

he cried

φωνέω

and said,

Father

πατήρ

Abraham,

Ἀβραάμ

have mercy

ἐλεέω

on me,

μέ

and

send

πέμπω

Lazarus,

Λάζαρος

that

ἵνα

he may dip

βάπτω

the tip

ἄκρον

of his

αὐτός

finger

δάκτυλος

in water,

ὕδωρ

and

καί

cool

καταψύχω

my

μοῦ

tongue;

γλῶσσα

for

ὅτι

I am tormented

ὀδυνάω

in

ἐν

this

ταύτῃ

flame.

Son,

remember

μνάομαι

that

ἐν

thy

σοῦ

lifetime

ζωή

receivedst

ἀπολαμβάνω

good things,

ἀγαθός

and

καί

likewise

ὁμοίως

Lazarus

Λάζαρος

evil things:

κακός

but

δέ

now

νῦν

ὅδε

he is comforted,

παρακαλέω

and

δέ

thou

σύ

art tormented.

ὀδυνάω

beside

this,

τούτοις

between

μεταξύ

us

ἡμῶν

you

ὑμῶν

there is

στηρίζω

a great

μέγας

gulf

χάσμα

fixed:

στηρίζω

so that

ὅπως

they which would

θέλω

pass

διαβαίνω

from hence

ἐντεῦθεν

to

πρός

you

ὑμᾶς

cannot;

μή

δύναμαι

neither

μηδέ

can they pass

διαπεράω

to

πρός

us,

ἡμᾶς

that would come from thence.

ἐκεῖθεν

he said,

I pray

ἐρωτάω

thee

σέ

therefore,

οὖν

father,

πατήρ

that

ἵνα

thou wouldest send

πέμπω

him

αὐτός

to

εἰς

my

μοῦ

father's

πατήρ

house:

οἶκος

For

γάρ

I have

ἔχω

five

πέντε

brethren;

ἀδελφός

that

ὅπως

he may testify

διαμαρτύρομαι

unto them,

αὐτός

lest

ἵνα

they

αὐτός

also

καί

come

ἔρχομαι

into

εἰς

this

τοῦτον

place

τόπος

of torment.

βάσανος

Abraham

saith

unto him,

They have

Moses

Μωσῆς

the prophets;

let them hear

ἀκούω

them.

Nay,

οὐχί

father

πατήρ

Abraham:

Ἀβραάμ

but

ἀλλά

if

ἐάν

one

τις

went

πορεύομαι

unto

πρός

them

αὐτός

from

ἀπό

the dead,

νεκρός

they will repent.

μετανοέω

And

δέ

he said

unto him,

αὐτός

If

εἰ

they hear

ἀκούω

not

οὐ

Moses

Μωσῆς

and

καί

the prophets,

προφήτης

neither

οὐδέ

will they be persuaded,

πείθω

though

ἐάν

one

τις

rose

ἀνίστημι

from

ἐκ

the dead.
