he that should come,

those things which

ye do hear

ἀκούω

see:

βλέπω

The blind

τυφλός

receive their sight,

ἀναβλέπω

the lame

χωλός

walk,

περιπατέω

the lepers

λεπρός

are cleansed,

καθαρίζω

the deaf

hear,

the dead

are raised up,

ἐγείρω

and

καί

the poor

πτωχός

have the gospel preached to them.

A prophet?

them that are born

there hath

risen

a greater than

the Baptist:

βαπτιστής

notwithstanding

he that is least

μικρός

in

ἐν

the kingdom

of heaven

is

ἐστί

greater than

μείζων

he.

suffereth violence,

the violent

take

by force.

Elias,

Ἠλίας

was for

μέλλω

to come.

to hear,

let him hear.

danced;

we have mourned

lamented.

neither

μήτε

eating

ἐσθίω

nor

μήτε

drinking,

they say,

He hath

a devil.

The Son

υἱός

of man

ἄνθρωπος

came

ἔρχομαι

eating

ἐσθίω

and

drinking,

πίνω

and

καί

they say,

λέγω

Behold

ἰδού

a man

ἄνθρωπος

gluttonous,

φάγος

and

a winebibber,

οἰνοπότης

a friend

φίλος

of publicans

sinners.

But

wisdom

is justified

δικαιόω

children.

Woe to the Unrepentant

to upbraid

ὀνειδίζω

the cities

wherein

ἐν

πλεῖστος

of his

mighty works

δύναμις

were done,

γίνομαι

because

they repented

μετανοέω

not:

οὐ

Woe

unto thee,

Chorazin!

Χοραζίν

woe

for

the mighty works,

they would have repented

long ago

It shall be

more tolerable

ἀνεκτός

for Tyre

Τύρος

and

Sidon

Σιδών

at

ἐν

the day

ἡμέρα

of judgment,

κρίσις

than

ἤ

for you.

ὑμῖν

Capernaum,

Καπερναούμ

which

ὁ

art exalted

ὑψόω

unto

ἕως

heaven,

οὐρανός

shalt be brought down

καταβιβάζω

to

ἕως

hell:

ᾍδης

for

ὅτι

if

εἰ

the mighty works,

δύναμις

which

ὁ

have been done

γίνομαι

in

ἐν

thee,

σοί

had been done

γίνομαι

in

ἐν

Sodom,

Σόδομα

it would have remained

ἄν

μένω

until

μέχρι

this day.

πλήν

I say

λέγω

unto you,

ὑμῖν

That

ὅτι

it shall be

ἔσομαι

more tolerable

ἀνεκτός

for the land

γῆ

of Sodom

Σόδομα

in

ἐν

the day

ἡμέρα

of judgment,

κρίσις

than

ἤ

for thee.

σοί

Rest for the Weary

Jesus

Ἰησοῦς

answered

ἀποκρίνομαι

and said,

I thank

ἐξομολογέω

thee,

σοί

O Father,

πατήρ

Lord

κύριος

of heaven

οὐρανός

and

καί

earth,

γῆ

because

ὅτι

thou hast hid

ἀποκρύπτω

these things

ταῦτα

from

ἀπό

the wise

σοφός

and

καί

prudent,

συνετός

and

καί

hast revealed

ἀποκαλύπτω

them

unto babes.

Even so,

Father:

πατήρ

for

it seemed

good

εὐδοκία

in thy

σοῦ

sight.

ἔμπροσθεν

All things

πᾶς

are delivered

παραδίδωμι

unto me

μοί

of

ὑπό

my

μοῦ

Father:

πατήρ

and

no man

οὐδείς

knoweth

ἐπιγινώσκω

the Son,

υἱός

but

εἰ

the Father;

πατήρ

neither

οὐδέ

knoweth

ἐπιγινώσκω

any man

τις

the Father,

πατήρ

save

εἰ

the Son,

υἱός

and he

καί

to

ὅς

whomsoever

ἐάν

the Son

υἱός

will

βούλομαι

reveal

ἀποκαλύπτω

him.

πᾶς

ye that labour

κοπιάω

are heavy laden,

φορτίζω

will give

ἀναπαύω

rest.

yoke

upon

learn

μανθάνω

ἀπό

me;

lowly

ταπεινός

in heart:

καρδία

and

καί

ye shall find

εὑρίσκω

rest

ἀνάπαυσις

unto your

ὑμῶν

souls.

yoke

ζυγός

is easy,

χρηστός

and

my

μοῦ

burden

φορτίον

is

ἐστί

light.
