the seven

angels

ἑπτά

vials,

talked

λαλέω

with

μετά

me,

ἐμοῦ

saying

λέγω

unto me,

μοί

Come hither;

δεῦρο

I will shew

δείκνυμι

unto thee

σοί

the judgment

κρίμα

of the great

μέγας

whore

πόρνη

that sitteth

κάθημαι

upon

ἐπί

many

πολύς

waters:

ὕδωρ

whom

the kings

βασιλεύς

of the earth

γῆ

have committed fornication,

πορνεύω

and

καί

the inhabitants

κατοικέω

of the earth

γῆ

have been made drunk

μεθύω

with

ἐκ

the wine

οἶνος

of her

αὐτός

fornication.

away

ἐν

the spirit

πνεῦμα

the wilderness:

ἔρημος

I saw

οἶδα

a woman

γυνή

sit

upon

ἐπί

a scarlet coloured

κόκκινος

beast,

θηρίον

full of

γέμω

names

ὄνομα

of blasphemy,

βλασφημία

having

ἔχω

seven

ἑπτά

heads

κεφαλή

and

καί

ten

δέκα

horns.

κέρας

the woman

γυνή

was

ἦν

arrayed

περιβάλλω

in purple

πορφύρα

and

καί

scarlet colour,

κόκκινος

and

καί

decked

χρυσόω

with gold

χρυσός

and

καί

precious

τίμιος

stones

λίθος

and

καί

pearls,

μαργαρίτης

having

ἔχω

a golden

χρυσοῦς

cup

ποτήριον

in

ἐν

her

αὐτός

hand

χείρ

full of

γέμω

abominations

βδέλυγμα

and

καί

filthiness

ἀκαθάρτης

of her

αὐτός

fornication:

πορνεία

forehead

μέτωπον

was a name

ὄνομα

written,

γράφω

MYSTERY,

μυστήριον

BABYLON

Βαβυλών

THE GREAT,

μέγας

THE MOTHER

μήτηρ

OF HARLOTS

πόρνη

AND

καί

ABOMINATIONS

βδέλυγμα

OF THE EARTH.

the woman

drunken

μεθύω

with

ἐκ

the blood

αἷμα

of the saints,

ἅγιος

with

ἐκ

the blood

αἷμα

of the martyrs

μάρτυς

of Jesus:

Ἰησοῦς

and

καί

when I saw

οἶδα

her,

αὐτός

I wondered

θαυμάζω

with great

μέγας

admiration.

Wherefore

didst thou marvel?

will tell

ἐρεῶ

the mystery

of the woman,

of the beast

θηρίον

that carrieth

βαστάζω

her,

αὐτός

which

ὁ

hath

ἔχω

the seven

ἑπτά

heads

κεφαλή

and

καί

ten

δέκα

horns.

thou sawest

was,

ἦν

ἐστί

not;

οὐ

καί

shall

μέλλω

ascend

ἀναβαίνω

out of

ἐκ

the bottomless pit,

ἄβυσσος

and

καί

go

ὑπάγω

into

εἰς

perdition:

ἀπώλεια

and

καί

they that dwell

κατοικέω

on

ἐπί

the earth

γῆ

shall wonder,

θαυμάζω

whose

ὅς

names

ὄνομα

were

γράφω

not

οὐ

written

γράφω

in

ἐπί

the book

βιβλίον

of life

ζωή

from

ἀπό

the foundation

καταβολή

of the world,

κόσμος

when they behold

βλέπω

the beast

θηρίον

that was,

ὅστις

ἦν

and

καί

is

ἐστί

not,

οὐ

and yet

καίπερ

is.

ἐστί

And here

ὧδε

is the mind

νοῦς

which

ὁ

hath

ἔχω

wisdom.

σοφία

The seven

ἑπτά

heads

κεφαλή

are

εἰσί3rd

seven

ἑπτά

mountains,

ὄρος

on

ἐπί

which

αὐτός

the woman

γυνή

sitteth.

κάθημαι

ὅπου

And

καί

there are

εἰσί3rd

seven

ἑπτά

kings:

βασιλεύς

five

πέντε

are fallen,

πίπτω

and

καί

one

εἷς

is,

ἐστί

and the other

ἄλλος

is

ἔρχομαι

not yet

οὔπω

come;

ἔρχομαι

and

καί

when

ὅταν

he cometh,

ἔρχομαι

he

αὐτός

must

δεῖ

continue

μένω

a short space.

καί

not,

αὐτός

ἐστί

the eighth,

ὄγδοος

καί

ἑπτά

and

καί

goeth

ὑπάγω

into

εἰς

perdition.

horns

κέρας

which

thou sawest

δέκα

kings,

βασιλεύς

which

ὅστις

have received

λαμβάνω

no

οὔπω

kingdom

βασιλεία

as yet;

οὔπω

but

ἀλλά

receive

λαμβάνω

power

ἐξουσία

as

ὡς

kings

βασιλεύς

one

μία

hour

ὥρα

with

μετά

the beast.

These

οὗτος

have

ἔχω

one

μία

mind,

γνώμη

and

καί

shall give

διαδίδωμι

their

ἑαυτοῦ

power

δύναμις

and

καί

strength

ἐξουσία

unto the beast.

shall make war

πολεμέω

with

μετά

the Lamb,

ἀρνίον

and

καί

the Lamb

ἀρνίον

shall overcome

νικάω

them:

αὐτός

for

ὅτι

he is

ἐστί

Lord

κύριος

of lords,

κύριος

and

καί

King

βασιλεύς

of kings:

βασιλεύς

and

καί

they that are with

μετά

him

αὐτός

are called,

κλητός

and

καί

chosen,

ἐκλεκτός

and

καί

faithful.

he saith

λέγω

unto me,

The waters

ὕδωρ

which

ὅς

thou sawest,

οἶδα

where

οὗ

the whore

πόρνη

sitteth,

κάθημαι

are

peoples,

λαός

and

καί

multitudes,

ὄχλος

and

καί

nations,

ἔθνος

and

καί

tongues.

horns

the beast,

θηρίον

οὗτος

shall hate

μισέω

the whore,

πόρνη

and

καί

shall make

ποιέω

her

αὐτός

desolate

ἐρημόω

and

καί

naked,

γυμνός

and

καί

shall eat

φάγω

her

αὐτός

flesh,

σάρξ

and

καί

burn

κατακαίω

her

αὐτός

with

ἐν

fire.

hath put

δίδωμι

in

εἰς

their

αὐτός

hearts

καρδία

to fulfil

ποιέω

his

αὐτός

will,

γνώμη

and

καί

to agree,

ποιέω

μία

γνώμη

and

καί

give

δίδωμι

their

αὐτός

kingdom

βασιλεία

unto the beast,

θηρίον

until

ἄχρι

the words

ῥῆμα

of God

θεός

shall be fulfilled.

And

the woman

γυνή

which

ὅς

thou sawest

οἶδα

is

ἐστί

that great

μέγας

city,

πόλις

which

ὁ

reigneth

ἔχω

βασιλεία

over

ἐπί

the kings

βασιλεύς

of the earth.

γῆ
