come down

heaven,

οὐρανός

ἔχω

great

μέγας

power;

ἐξουσία

and

καί

the earth

γῆ

was lightened

φωτίζω

with

ἐκ

his

αὐτός

glory.

And

καί

he cried

κράζω

mightily

ἰσχύς

with

ἐν

a strong

μέγας

voice,

φωνή

saying,

λέγω

Babylon

Βαβυλών

the great

μέγας

is fallen,

πίπτω

is fallen,

πίπτω

and

καί

is become

γίνομαι

the habitation

κατοικητήριον

katoikētērion

of devils,

δαίμων

and

καί

the hold

φυλακή

of every

πᾶς

foul

ἀκάθαρτος

spirit,

πνεῦμα

and

καί

a cage

φυλακή

of every

πᾶς

unclean

ἀκάθαρτος

and

καί

hateful

μισέω

bird.

nations

have drunk

πίνω

of

ἐκ

the wine

οἶνος

of the wrath

θυμός

of her

fornication,

πορνεία

and

the kings

βασιλεύς

of the earth

γῆ

have committed fornication

πορνεύω

with

μετά

her,

αὐτός

and

καί

the merchants

ἔμπορος

of the earth

γῆ

are waxed rich

πλουτέω

through

ἐκ

the abundance

δύναμις

of her

αὐτός

delicacies.

I heard

ἀκούω

another

ἄλλος

voice

φωνή

from

ἐκ

heaven,

οὐρανός

saying,

λέγω

Come

ἐξέρχομαι

out of

ἐκ

her,

my

μοῦ

people,

λαός

that

ἵνα

ye be

συγκοινωνέω

not

ἵνα

partakers

συγκοινωνέω

of her

αὐτός

sins,

ἁμαρτία

and

καί

that

ἵνα

ye receive

λαμβάνω

not

ἵνα

of

ἐκ

her

αὐτός

plagues.

have reached

κολλάω

unto

ἄχρι

heaven,

hath remembered

μνημονεύω

iniquities.

she

rewarded

you,

unto her

according to

αὐτός

works:

ἔργον

the cup

ποτήριον

which

she hath filled

κεράννυμι

to her

double.

she saith

a queen,

widow,

shall see

sorrow.

death,

she shall be utterly burned

κατακαίω

with

fire:

for

ὅτι

strong

ἰσχυρός

is the Lord

judgeth

her.

wood,

all manner

of ivory,

most precious

beasts,

the fruits

lusted after

ἐπιθυμία

are departed

ἀπέρχομαι

which

were dainty

λιπαρός

and

καί

goodly

λαμπρός

are departed

ἀπέρχομαι

from

ἀπό

thee,

and

thou shalt find

εὑρίσκω

them

no more

at all.

of these things,

were made rich

shall stand

afar

torment,

weeping

decked

χρυσόω

is come to nought.

shipmaster,

κυβερνήτης

the company

ὅμιλος

in

ἐπί

ships,

πλοῖον

and

καί

sailors,

ναύτης

and

καί

as many as

ὅσος

trade

ἐργάζομαι

by sea,

θάλασσα

stood

ἵστημι

afar

μακρόθεν

off,

ἀπό

when they saw

ὁράω

the smoke

καπνός

of her

αὐτός

burning,

πύρωσις

saying,

What

city is like

unto this great

city!

βάλλω

dust

χοῦς

on

ἐπί

their

αὐτός

heads,

κεφαλή

and

καί

cried,

κράζω

weeping

κλαίω

and

καί

wailing,

πενθέω

saying,

λέγω

Alas,

οὐαί

alas,

οὐαί

that great

μέγας

city,

πόλις

wherein

ἐν

ὅς

were made rich

πλουτέω

all

πᾶς

that had

ἔχω

ships

πλοῖον

in

ἐν

the sea

θάλασσα

by reason of

ἐκ

her

costliness!

τιμιότης

for

ὅτι

μία

hour

ὥρα

is she made desolate.

Rejoice

εὐφραίνω

over

ἐπί

her,

αὐτός

thou heaven,

οὐρανός

ye holy

ἅγιος

apostles

ἀπόστολος

καί

prophets;

προφήτης

for

ὅτι

God

hath avenged

κρίμα

κρίνω

you

ὑμῶν

on

her.

mighty

ἰσχυρός

angel

ἄγγελος

took up

a stone

λίθος

like

ὡς

a great

μέγας

millstone,

μύλος

cast

βάλλω

it into

εἰς

the sea,

θάλασσα

saying,

λέγω

Thus

οὕτως

with violence

ὅρμημα

shall

βάλλω

that great

μέγας

city

πόλις

Babylon

Βαβυλών

be thrown down,

βάλλω

and

καί

shall be found

εὑρίσκω

no more

οὐ

at all.

ἔτι

the voice

φωνή

of harpers,

κιθαρῳδός

and

καί

musicians,

μουσικός

and

καί

of pipers,

αὐλητής

and

καί

trumpeters,

σαλπιστής

shall be heard

ἀκούω

no more

οὐ

at all

ἔτι

in

ἐν

thee;

σοί

and

καί

no

οὐ

πᾶς

craftsman,

τεχνίτης

of whatsoever

πᾶς

craft

τέχνη

he be, shall be found

εὑρίσκω

any more

ἔτι

the sound

φωνή

of a millstone

shall be heard

ἀκούω

no more

οὐ

at all

of a candle

of the bridegroom

shall be heard

ἀκούω

merchants

ἦν

the great men

of the earth;

sorceries

deceived.

εὑρίσκω

the blood

αἷμα

of prophets,

προφήτης

of saints,

ἅγιος

that were slain

σφάζω

upon

the earth.
