were passed away;

παρέρχομαι

there was

more

ἔτι

sea.

Ἰωάννης

saw

οἶδα

the holy

ἅγιος

city,

πόλις

new

καινός

Jerusalem,

Ἱερουσαλήμ

coming down

καταβαίνω

from

ἀπό

God

θεός

out of

ἐκ

heaven,

οὐρανός

prepared

ἑτοιμάζω

as

ὡς

a bride

νύμφη

adorned

κοσμέω

for her

αὐτός

husband.

I heard

ἀκούω

a great

μέγας

voice

φωνή

out of

ἐκ

heaven

οὐρανός

saying,

λέγω

Behold,

ἰδού

the tabernacle

σκηνή

of God

θεός

is with

μετά

men,

ἄνθρωπος

and

καί

he will dwell

σκηνόω

with

μετά

them,

αὐτός

and

καί

they

αὐτός

shall be

ἔσομαι

his

αὐτός

people,

λαός

and

καί

God

θεός

himself

αὐτός

shall be

ἔσομαι

with

μετά

them,

αὐτός

and be their

αὐτός

God.

God

θεός

shall wipe away

ἐξαλείφω

all

πᾶς

tears

δάκρυον

from

ἀπό

their

αὐτός

eyes;

ὀφθαλμός

and

καί

there shall be

ἔσομαι

no

οὐ

more

ἔτι

death,

θάνατος

neither

οὔτε

sorrow,

πένθος

nor

οὔτε

crying,

κραυγή

neither

οὔτε

οὐ

shall there be

ἔσομαι

any more

ἔτι

pain:

πόνος

for

ὅτι

the former things

πρῶτος

are passed away.

he that sat

κάθημαι

upon

ἐπί

the throne

θρόνος

said,

Behold,

ἰδού

I make

ποιέω

all things

πᾶς

new.

καινός

And

καί

he said

λέγω

unto me,

γράφω

for

ὅτι

these

οὗτος

words

λόγος

are

true

ἀληθινός

and

καί

faithful.

It is done.

unto him that is athirst

διψάω

freely.

He that overcometh

shall inherit

κληρονομέω

all things;

I will be

son.

But

δέ

the fearful,

δειλός

and

καί

unbelieving,

ἄπιστος

and

καί

the abominable,

βδελύσσομαι

and

καί

murderers,

φονεύς

and

καί

whoremongers,

πόρνος

and

καί

sorcerers,

φαρμακεύς

and

καί

idolaters,

εἰδωλολάτρης

and

καί

all

πᾶς

liars,

ψευδής

shall have their

αὐτός

part

μέρος

in

ἐν

the lake

λίμνη

which

ὁ

burneth

καίω

with fire

πῦρ

and

καί

brimstone:

θεῖον

which is

ὅ

the second

δεύτερος

death.

one of

εἷς

the seven

ἑπτά

angels

vials

last

ἔσχατος

plagues,

πληγή

talked

λαλέω

μετά

Come hither,

I will shew

thee

the bride,

the Lamb's

wife.

the spirit

mountain,

that great

μέγας

city,

the holy

Jerusalem,

descending

καταβαίνω

out of

heaven

the glory

light

was like

ὅμοιος

unto a stone

λίθος

most precious,

τίμιος

even like

ὡς

a jasper

ἴασπις

stone,

clear as crystal;

κρυσταλλίζω

great

μέγας

and

high,

ὑψηλός

and had

ἔχω

twelve

δώδεκα

gates,

πυλών

at

ἐπί

the gates

angels,

ἄγγελος

and

καί

names

ὄνομα

written thereon,

ἐπιγράφω

which

ὅς

are

ἐστί

the names of the twelve

δώδεκα

tribes

φυλή

of the children

υἱός

of Israel:

Ἰσραήλ

gates;

of the city

twelve

foundations,

θεμέλιος

ἐν

them

αὐτός

ὄνομα

of the twelve

δώδεκα

apostles

ἀπόστολος

of the Lamb.

he that talked

λαλέω

with

μετά

ἐμοῦ

had

ἔχω

a golden

χρυσοῦς

reed

κάλαμος

to

ἵνα

measure

μετρέω

the city,

πόλις

and

καί

the gates

πυλών

thereof,

αὐτός

and

καί

the wall

τεῖχος

thereof.

lieth

κεῖμαι

foursquare,

τετράγωνος

and

the length

μῆκος

αὐτός

is

ἐστί

as large

τοσοῦτος

ὅσος

the breadth:

πλάτος

he measured

μετρέω

the city

πόλις

with the reed,

κάλαμος

ἐπί

twelve

δώδεκα

thousand

χιλιάς

furlongs.

στάδιον

The length

μῆκος

and

καί

the breadth

πλάτος

and

καί

the height

ὕψος

of it

αὐτός

are

ἐστί

equal.

ἴσος

μετρέω

the wall

τεῖχος

thereof,

αὐτός

an hundred

ἑκατόν

and forty

τεσσαράκοντα

and four

τέσσαρες

cubits,

πῆχυς

according to the measure

μέτρον

of a man,

ἄνθρωπος

that is,

ὅ

of the angel.

ἐνδόμησις

of the wall

ἦν

of jasper:

ἴασπις

the city

was pure

καθαρός

gold,

like

unto clear

καθαρός

glass.

of the wall

of the city

were garnished with

κοσμέω

all manner of

precious

τίμιος

stones.

The first

πρῶτος

foundation

θεμέλιος

was jasper;

ἴασπις

the second,

δεύτερος

sapphire;

σάπφειρος

the third,

τρίτος

a chalcedony;

χαλκηδών

the fourth,

τέταρτος

an emerald;

σμάραγδος

The fifth,

πέμπτος

sardonyx;

σαρδόνυξ

the sixth,

ἕκτος

sardius;

σάρδιον

the seventh,

ἕβδομος

chrysolite;

χρυσόλιθος

the eighth,

ὄγδοος

beryl;

βήρυλλος

the ninth,

ἔνατος

a topaz;

τοπάζιον

the tenth,

δέκατος

a chrysoprasus;

χρυσόπρασος

the eleventh,

ἑνδέκατος

a jacinth;

ὑάκινθος

the twelfth,

δωδέκατος

an amethyst.

gates

πυλών

were twelve

δώδεκα

pearls;

μαργαρίτης

every

ἕκαστος

ἀνά

several

εἷς

gate

πυλών

was

ἦν

of

ἐκ

one

εἷς

pearl:

μαργαρίτης

and

καί

the street

πλατεῖα

of the city

πόλις

was pure

καθαρός

gold,

χρυσίον

as it were

ὡς

transparent

διαυγής

glass.

ὕαλος

And

I saw

οἶδα

no

οὐ

temple

ναός

therein:

ἐν

αὐτός

for

γάρ

the Lord

κύριος

God

θεός

Almighty

παντοκράτωρ

and

καί

the Lamb

ἀρνίον

are

ἐστί

the temple

ναός

of it.

αὐτός

And

the city

πόλις

had

ἔχω

no

οὐ

need

χρεία

of the sun,

ἥλιος

neither

οὐδέ

of the moon,

σελήνη

to

ἵνα

shine

φαίνω

in

ἐν

it:

αὐτός

for

γάρ

the glory

δόξα

of God

θεός

did lighten

φωτίζω

it,

αὐτός

and

καί

the Lamb

ἀρνίον

is the light

λύχνος

thereof.

αὐτός

And

καί

the nations

ἔθνος

of them which are saved

σῴζω

shall walk

περιπατέω

in

ἐν

the light

φῶς

of it:

αὐτός

and

καί

the kings

βασιλεύς

of the earth

γῆ

do bring

φέρω

their

αὐτός

glory

δόξα

and

καί

honour

τιμή

into

εἰς

it.

αὐτός

And

καί

the gates

πυλών

of it

αὐτός

shall

κλείω

not

οὐ

be shut

κλείω

at all

οὐ

by day:

ἡμέρα

for

γάρ

there shall be

ἔσομαι

no

οὐ

night

νύξ

there.

ἐκεῖ

they shall bring

φέρω

the glory

δόξα

and

καί

honour

τιμή

of the nations

ἔθνος

into

εἰς

it.

And

καί

there shall

εἰσέρχομαι

in no wise

οὐ

enter

εἰσέρχομαι

into

εἰς

it

αὐτός

any thing

πᾶς

that defileth,

κοινόω

neither

καί

whatsoever worketh

ποιέω

abomination,

βδέλυγμα

or

καί

maketh a lie:

ψεῦδος

but

εἰ

they which are written

γράφω

in

ἐν

the Lamb's

ἀρνίον

book

βιβλίον

of life.
